Your physician's office will schedule an appointment for you with the Preadmissions Center. During your visit, Preadmissions Center staff will: - Prepare final admission paper work
- Ask you questions about your medical history
- Obtain your height and weight
- Perform any lab work (blood tests, urine samples) or other tests ordered by your doctor
- Answer any questions you have about Woman's Hospital or your scheduled procedure
- Tell you where to park and where to check in on the day of surgery
Important Note: Please put ALL of your prescription, nonprescription, herbal medications and vitamins in their original containers in a bag and bring them to your preadmission appointment. Presurgery Telephone Assessment:
In cases deemed medically appropriate, your presurgery assessment may be completed by telephone. If your physician determines that you meet the guidelines, a registered nurse from the Preadmissions Center will schedule a convenient time to complete your assessment over the phone prior to your scheduled procedure. Hospital stays after surgery have become shorter. Now, more than ever, it is important for you to be prepared for surgery and to take an active part in your recovery.
